In printed media, there are trained journalist who studied to learn the principles of media writing. And media refers to mass media which include journalism .

Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information. It is also the production and distribution of reports on the interaction of events, facts, ideas, and people that are the "news of the day" and that informs society to at least some degree.

Journalism can be distinguished from other activities and products by certain identifiable characteristics and practices. These elements not only separate journalism from other forms of communication, they are what make it indispensable to democratic societies. History reveals that the more democratic a society, the more news and information it tends to have.

Journalism is both scientific writing , and artistic writing. In news writing, the journalist should be factual objective and it should answer the WH question. While in feature writing, the journalist writers about the places to visit during summer, and complete with photos about the scenic spots.

In journalism, there is the freedom of the press. The people have to right to know what happened but there should be confidential to matters that government would not divulge to the people.
